There are two types of turnaround/change leadership. First is the one in which you are a chief executive and you simply have to bring about the change down the hierarchy. The second type of turnaround/change management is the one in which you are not the chief executive and you need to bring the change/turnaround down the hierarchy as well as up the hierarchy. I have been involved in both the capacities. In the second type of turnaround/change management it takes at least two to three years to bring about a cultural change. Change is not only about hiring or firing, which has its own side effects and repercussions, if not handled delicately. The real change is brought about your carefully chosen change agents and enabling them to post "small wins" (low hanging fruits) for which all credit is given to them. You may lose unintended more valuable change agents by crude hirings and firings. The more difficult change is overhauling processes and business process re-engineering. This requires attention to detail and ability to drill down and peep into the future realization of processes. Cultural change requires developing and empowering "change agents". The change is communicated by your personal example and more potently through the example and communications of the change agents......

نے فرمایا کہ یہ بھی شیطان کی طرف سے ایک مغالطہ ہے۔ خوب سمجھ لیجیے کہ علم حاصل کرنے کا مقصد اصلاح نفس ہونا چاہیے۔ دوسروں کی اصلاح تب کرسکیں گے جب خود اپنی اصلاح ہوگی۔ اگر اصلاح نفس کی نیت کے بغیر علم حاصل کیا تو اس میں برکت نہیں ہوگی وہ علم بے نور ہوگا۔ اس لیے امام بخاری رحمۃ اللہ علیہ نے ابتداء میں اصلاح نیت والی حدیث لائی کہ سب سے پہلے اپنی نیت درست کر لو، ورنہ پڑھنے پڑھانے کا کوئی فائدہ نہیں۔

I have come to the conclusion that social media especially youtube, Facebook, Instagram, and now even Google does not want people to remember chronologically and category-wise information that they have seen or even generated themselves. I am no longer able to see a list of all the videos that I have uploaded. It is only available on my account but not to the viewers. Similarly, my Blogspot articles can not be searched on google chrome. It would never show me the information that I want to see. It would only show me the information that Google wants me to see. This is information control.
Hence I have made a list of all the videos here so that I have a structured view of all of my videos.
Please pin your hopes on principles not people. You are bound to be disappointed if you pin your hopes on saviors as I have been closely following the rise and fall of many of the saviors over the last 54 years of my life in the course of daily reading of newspapers, and have personally witnessed the rise and fall of Ayub, Yahya, Mujeeb, Bhutto, Zia, NS (thrice), BB (twice), Mush, Shaukat Aziz, Jamali, Junejo, Gilani, Parvez, Zardari, Altaf Bhai, and now Imran Khan. I have come across countless well-intentioned youth who were left disgruntled, disappointed, and disillusioned by the human frailties of their dear larger-than-life leaders who turned out to be just humans.
Why there is such a widespread epidemic of depression and psychosis in the world?
Too much change, happening too fast and robbing us of the familiar anchors in life; anchors in beliefs, anchors in thoughts, anchors in our habits, anchors in families, anchors in "Old Familiar Faces", anchors in furniture and household items, anchors in the neighborhood.
Typically, the conventional wisdom is that "corruption is the mother of incompetence". The argument goes like the following: If there was no corruption, no incompetent judges would be hired, no incompetent civil servants would be hired or promoted, there would be no incompetent NAB, there would be no incompetent MNAs and MPAs and there would be no incompetent Ministers.
Thanks to the dictatorships, they had used the corruption to prolong their rule and survive. Zia ul Haq introduced non-party-based elections to bring the business mafia into the politics and unethical business mafia generated all the mess to engineer incompetence in all areas so their illegal wealth can grow and they never get caught by any system: Judiciary, law enforcement etc. The business mafia ensured incompetent people get hired at all levels to support their illegal actions. EVM is a much bigger logistics & management problem than a technology problem! Assuming EVMs are technologically feasible, now please work out the logistics and management issues of manufacturing, testing, transportation, storage, issuance, receipts, returns, installation, post installation testing, quality assurance, maintenance, malfunction detection, repair, supervision etc of uniquely numbered 7 lac devices. Mind you, that all these devices will have to work flawlessly for only two days out of every five years in 100,000 polling stations spread over big cities, small cities, villages in areas spread over a country consisting of mountainous regions, deserts, plains, etc with highly differring levels of roads, internet, communication infrastructure using over 4 lacs polling staff that is conscripted for election duty from government departments for election duty. Each of 1lac polling stations has at least 7 hardware devices; 1 device for voter identification, 1 control unit, two ballot machines for men and 2 ballot machines for women (out of two, one is for NA and the other is for PA), and 1 RTS machine.
The question to ask is whether you want to be happy or not!

What is the problem with the following advice: "Don't get too proud, she said, of your capabilities at handling anything — or soon people will expect you to handle everything. The world is always eager to find someone who can handle everything (because the world is lazy, and doesn't want to do the work) and soon you will be responsible for more than you can manage. You will be doing more than what is fair, or even sensible — and you will be doing thousands of things that you were never designed to do.
Don't get seduced by the idea that you are some kind of Superwoman — as much as the world wants to put that honorific upon you. (Telling women that they are superheroes is a trick the world has always played, for making women do all the work.)
There are several types of price setting strategies such as Cost Plus and Demand Driven Pricing. Walmart's success was built on cost plus pricing model. Sam Walton was the founder of the retailing giant of 1990s-2000s. In his autobiography "Made in America" published a few months around his death in 1992, he mentions the example of a toothpaste he was selling at around 2 dollars. He found a vendor who offered the same quality at around 55cents. Managers advised him to sell at around $1.20. Their logic was that Walmart buyers are used to buying this tooth paste at around 2 dollars. $1.2 is a significant decrease. However, he declined. He decided to sell at around 70 cents. His logic was that his CSR is providing consumers with lowest prices. Walmart slogan is "Everyday Lowest Prices". He said around 10% margin is as per his mission. The toothpaste was sold at 70 cents. He writes in the autobiography, while he was suffering from terminal cancer, that this book will come to haunt those who will try to meddle with his legacy. He was writing in the context of the question that what was his contribution to the social welfare of people. He said his mission was to provide his customers with the lowest price anywhere. This mission had made life easier for millions of mass consumers of USA. The benefits of cheaper prices that he had passed on to Americans is unparalleled.
Central Banks are required by law everywhere to manage and control monetary policy or value of money. There is nothing "natural" about value of money or forex rates. Monetary policy (always artificially crafted) works in tandem with fiscal policy and international policy to establish value of money. Tools used by fiscal/monetary policy include (1) interest rate changes, (2) unemployment rates, (3) inflation reports, (4) gross domestic product numbers, (5) manufacturing data, and (6) commodities.
